Technical Equipment
With regard to the fact that the Traffic Safety Research team performs is basic activities in real road traffic, it is equipped for its work in an appropriate manner with both means of transport and elements for ensuring the safety of the team members and other road users.
To document, analyse and simulate accident events, the team also has high-performance recording and measuring equipment, including the latest 3D scanner.

Call-out Vehicles
The team’s needs are served by a ŠKODA Octavia Combi Scout and a VW Transporter T5 with special alterations and an additional part, including a platform and telescopic mast for recording equipment capturing the place of an accident from above. The vehicles have back-up power sources and are equipped, for example, with a multimeter or diagnostic equipment for the electronic parts of a car.
Recording and Measuring Equipment
Thanks to the special equipment, specialists from the team can map the place of an accident on the spot and get data about the local conditions, vehicles involved in the accidents and their technical parameters, damage and data about any injuries. The equipment includes marking sprays and chalks, distance measures of various types, including lasers, inclinometers and recording equipment (digital camera, video camera, 3D scanner, notebook).
Ensuring Safety of the Team and Parties to Accidents
The team has the necessary safety equipment to ensure its own safety and the safety of parties to accidents and other road traffic users. This includes, in particular, reflective work clothing, as well as packaway cones with lights, warning signs and stopping targets. There is a medical bag and fire extinguisher for the safety of other parties to an accident and road traffic users, if needed.
