The City Safe Drive system, particularly suited to crowded city streets, is a breakthrough in driving safety. It has an emergency brake function and a CV (Closing Velocity) laser sensor that monitors the traffic within 10 m ahead at up to 30 km/h. If the driver fails to react to an obstacle in time, the system can prevent a collision.

Rigid body structure is the essence of safety. The front and rear parts of the vehicle provide maximum energy absorption during crash. Special mounts prevent the engine from intruding into the passenger area. In a severe collision, the engine slides under the passenger area, where it can’t hurt anyone.

ESC, or Electronic Stability Control, helps all drivers to handle critical situations where the car starts skidding. The control unit constantly compares current data about the driving behaviour of the vehicle with pre-set values. If the values are mismatched, the control unit issues a vehicle stabilisation command. While ESC helps the driver significantly, it remains bound by the laws of nature. It can assist only if the adhesion limits are not exceeded, at least on the wheels used to stabilise the vehicle.

The cornering function of the fog lamps is perfect for urban driving. In the difficult junctions, the fog lamps illuminate the space where driver is about to turn. It is also very useful for parking manoeuvres in the dark, during which there is a risk of damaging the bodywork or “curbing” the wheels. Fog lamp also illuminates the space besides the vehicle during U-turns.
