ŠKODA provides a total of 55 vehicles for the IIHF organisers. During World Championship matches, the ŠKODA KODIAQ and SUPERB are prominently positioned a few metres from the playing area. Furthermore, the ŠKODA brand logo adorns the face-off circle in the centre of the playing area and the hoardings. For enthusiasts of this ‘cool’ sport, the company has prepared additional highlights in the shape of the specially organised ‘fan zones’.
In 1992, ŠKODA began their involvement as vehicle partner to the final round in Prague and Bratislava. Since 1993, the brand has been a popular sight on the ice at every IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship as the Official Main Sponsor. ŠKODA have even earned ŠKODA a GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for ‘the longest-lasting main sponsorship in the history of sports world championships’. At every IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, 40-50 ŠKODA cars carry officials and guests from one location to another.
